I'm seeing the same issue as you comment on my testing computers. VSE 8.8 patch 7, TIE module 18.104.22.1683, TIE server 22.214.171.124.
That hotfix isn't available on McAfee Portal... I suppose you requested it opening a case on Service Portal?¿

from my point of information we have two troubles here.
There can be some registry keys set to give back the same ODScan performance like VSE P4.
I have patch 6 deployed and clients are working fine during ODS.
What registry keys are you talking about? And.. what is the second trouble?
Try this keys....
We have no issues and have fully updated to Patch 7, Agent 126.96.36.199 tie module 188.8.131.52, one thing we changed was to disable Compressed file scanning on access. after patch 4 issues.
