MLOS Agent not updating after TIE 3.0.1 update

I updated the latest release of TIE and in the release notes it mentions the Platform package including MLOS agent 5.6.5.

The update was successful and TIE is functional, but the agent did not update - it's still on 5.6.4. 

I was able to reproduce this in a throwaway lab, which gives me the impression this isn't the update itself that failed.

Has anyone else had this happen?

This is certainly weird, May we seek your help in raising a Support request for this? We may have to reach out to Dev to see if this is expected in case we don't find any errors in the installation/Upgrade activity logs.

The agent finally did appear with the correct version, but it took well over a day even with repeated agent wake ups

It is expected that Agent upgrade in Midnight. Is as designed. 

 

Please see following Guide and comment:

NOTE: The task for upgrading the McAfee Agent for MLOS runs at 12 a.m. on the same day you upgrade the appliance. If you can't complete the McAfee Agent upgrade after that period, you can upgrade it manually. For more information, see the Troubleshooting section.
