just in case you are in the need of running the MER for TIE and you have a newer appliance you might not be able to run it with the followign message:
"This script should only be run on a McAfee TIE Server."
This is due to a script line at the very beginning:
if [[ ! "$(cat /etc/redhat-release)" =~ "TIE" ]]; then
The info in the redhat-release changed and is saying somethign like "Threat Intelligence ..." Please check your file before and adjust the script as needed.
We informed McAfee but still no changes to the script.
well I just downloaded the MER from the support-site and the correpsonding KB article yesterday!!!
When you search for MER and TIE you´ll find the KB:https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB82850
The article was updated February 19th this year.
So I don´t get the point here. Maybe someone should either delete the KB or update it to at least refer to the included script since version x.y. This is obviously missleading.
You know we had no problem as we just modified the .sh.
This post just has informational pupose for others that might run into the same situation.
