DXL and McAfee Agent

Hi everyone,

I have read the documentation for the McAfee DXL but I still cannot understand why it is coming by default with the latest versions of the McAfee Agent. We, for example, are not using the related features like TIE, Brokers etc.

Can someone please explain what is the use of it and what is the point getting it built-in with the Agent?

Thanks for your post.

McAfee Agent 5.6.0 bundles the McAfee Data Exchange Layer client as a component.

The Data Exchange Layer client is automatically installed on managed systems and connects to a DXL broker in your environment. If the DXL broker is not present in your environment, the DXL client goes into an idle mode where it consumes minimal resources until brokers become present. DXL services run as part of McAfee Agent services.

Suppose if any customer is having DXL broker in the environment in that case Wake-Up agent call will executed through DXL.
