MVT: Unresolvable "Top Issue" means all my machines are unhealthy

Hi all,

We are using HIPS 7 on our workstations.  MVT is reporting a "Top Issue" on each one:  "Top Issue: System stops responding on logon or logoff for clients running Host Intrusion Prevention 7.0 Patch 6 or 7."

I've read the associated KB article.  We aren't having the issue described so we don't need the hotfix, and the final fix won't be available until Patch 8 comes out.  So there's no way to remediate this issue, and therefore MVT will list ALL our workstations as having "Issues Found."  This makes MVT less useful.

Does anyone have any suggestions or further information about this issue?

MVT has been updated today and should not show this top issue. 

Can you pl. run MVT again and confirm.

Thanks, but I downloaded the latest epo-MVT Content (version 21) and a diagnostic check on my workstation still shows this issue.  Is this the version of the content I should be using?

Hi Steve,

Yes, it is version 21.  I also checked the contents of the package and it does consist the latest updated file. 

I will check with my team and update you.  At this point I am not sure why the issue is still being displayed even though the content has been updated.

I'm sorry, it seems that I spoke too soon.  A few hours later and I don't see that detection any more.  Is the updated content not pushed out if I wake up an agent?  That's what I was expecting to happen.

Hi Steve,

The content update happens at the scheduled time of the Product update task, which is created for either MVT package or all packages.
