HIPS 8.0.0.3828 SAE Requires Restart

Hi,

Last week i have deploy HIPS version 8.0.0.3828, i have push down from EPO server.

However some user keep getting pop message asking user to restart.

I have remove the file from C:\Windows\McAfeeHIP_Reboot.

Please advice how to over come this issue. I need to push down HIPS 8.0.0.3828

That screenshot shows SiteAdvisor is prompting for a reboot; not HIPS.

Considering the screenshot, yes.  The C:\Windows\McAfeeHIP_Reboot file only prevents an upgrade/patch from applying until a reboot is performed (sometimes Windows fails to delete the file as a PENDINGFILERENAME operation, so it must be deleted manually).

Oh dear I shouldn't have said that as I just realised that I have no permissions in this area to move stuff.

Someone else, probably McA staff will have to do it I'm afraid.

This is an SAE popup so this thread is moved to that section, and the system needs to be restarted to activate SAE update.
