remove prior version needed prior to new install?

Do i need to remove virusscan plus 2008 prior to installing virusscan plus 2009? Why wont info for chat accept any phone number? At least tell what format to use. xxx xxx-xxxx etc ?

It is always a good idea to uninstall previous versions.

Use the MCPR removal tool linked in my signature.

Chat should accept a phone number in the 10-digit format xxx-xxx-xxxx note two hyphens.

We've long complained about that feature.
