Since I istalled McAfee All Access Total Protection, both my computers became useless as mcshield.exe is eating all the CPU. It's that bad that the cooler fan is turning like a crazy airconditioning and the laptop is generating heat like hell. What can we do to use our computers in a normal way again?Message was edited by: hyperfly on 4/9/13 12:09:27 AM CDT
It wouldn't normally do this unless there's a lot that the scanner finds 'interesting'. Do you have any suspicious files stored or do you have another security program installed, or maybe remnants of an old one that perhaps weren't properly removed?
Do the computers exceed the minimum requirements for the software? + Is your machine totally up to date, including IE (McAfee uses IE interface)?
Windows XP SP3 or higher (32-bit)
Windows Vista SP1 (32- and 64-bit)
Windows 7 (32- and 64-bit)
Windows 8 (32- and 64-bit)
512 MB RAM for XP
2 GB RAM for Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8
500 MB free drive space
1 GHz processor
Internet Connection Required
High-speed connection recommended

Hello, nothing special in terms of 'interesting' files. All system requirements are OK.
Both computers are constantly running at 100% CPU and are barely useable now. All this happened after I installed McAfee.
Best open a case with Technical Support and ask them to escalate if necessary. It's free by phone or online chat and linked under Useful Links at the top of the page.
What version of Mcafee 11.6 or 12.1? That said what are your PC cpu specs? Asking as 11.6 and single core cpus ie P4s do not work well together and will hit 100% cpu regularly.
