everytime I update or at random intervals it says I am not protected

it seems to shutdown all but my firewall.

is there some reason this is happening or is it some kind of BS put into one of the latest program releases?

better question how do I fix because I am really getting tired of having to reenable everything or re verify a subscription that has been already verified.

please someone help

Re: everytime I update or at random intervals it says I am not protected

Hi,
Are you still facing the issue with mcafee, if so please provide some information about your computer ,like;

What is the operating system in the computer ? (Windows Xp/Vista)?
What type of internet connection? (DSl / Cable )
Have you installed any other third party security softwares in the computer?

Thanks,

ok first of all to those who have this issue install malwarebytes to remove the malware from your registry and then check everything in security center and I mean every single option because it turned off my realtime protev=ction till I noticed it today

ok now I have win xp and I am not sure of everything else

Re: everytime I update or at random intervals it says I am not protected

Hi,

So have you found any infection in the malware byte scan? And was it removed?

And any other security application installed in the computer?

Steps could you try:

Ran MVT from the below link and check if that resolved the issue or not. Also let me know the session ID.

http://mvt.mcafee.com/mvt/basiccheck.asp?

How old is the computer?

Try running the check disk to find any hard drive crash, this can also cause the application to crash.

(Open CMD and type chkdsk press enter)

Check in event viewer for any other application crash (My computer->Right click->Mange->Event Viewer) and let me know.

yes MBAM did remove the infection but it still puzzles me how a freeware antivirus can find it when McAffe did not.

either way I am no longer having this issue
