Double-click the taskbar icon to open SecurityCenter

Click Advanced Menu (bottom)

Click Configure (left)

Click Computer & Files (top left)

You can turn off VirusScan at the right and I would pick "Never" as the time to switch back on until all is finished.

Don't forget to re-enable it though!

However it might be better to enable Windows Firewall then follow these procedures: http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS100507

The reason I say that is that not all aspects of McAfee Total Protection are Windows 7 compatible - Backup & Restore for instance.

Then reinstall from your account afterwards.
