Unfortunately, this happens a lot to me,
Because, Updates are every 4 hours, my scan takes about 5 or so. So when the scan is running and an update is trying to run..
The update finally finishes in about 40 minutes..
Sometimes the update can lock up the PC. the issue has been reported as not desirable.
Conor you got use minimal resources unselected in options for scan? My scan takes 2 hrs and even less now using beta 5.0.
I'm still using 2010,
I have a few zip files, and yes I do have that unchecked,
I use my browser a lot while it's scanning, sometimes I have sandboxed browser open whilst my other browser is open whilst it is scanning, because I have to do other things.
I only have 1 GB of ram, might be why, it tends to use about 60-100% of ram whilst it's scanning, and such.
So you are using custom scanning as scheduled scans cannot be set to ignore zip files. the 2011 version I am sure you will like the scanning options at least.
