Hi, just had a client drop their system off to the shop for repair. System has McAfee Security Centre installed, but is unable to run the program due to compatibility issues with Windows Vista Home Premium. Client has tried to un-install the program by deleting something - she is not sure what she did. Program is still listed in Add/Remove Programs list, but is unable to be un-installed as there are missing files from the registry. I've tried downloading and running the program removal tool MCPR.exe, but this failed to remove the programs as cleanup was already in progress. I've also tried re-starting the system and running the removal tool again with the same result. Any other ideas on how to remove the program or get it working properly?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Check for McCleanup under task scheduler (start - all programs - accessories - system tools - task scheduler) and delete it
Try running the MCPR tool again & restart the computer .

managed to get it un-installed, many thanks to staff on online support. the customer had deleted the mcafee folder from the computer which made things difficult.
