I know I've posted similar questions here before, but this particular thing has happened twice so far and I'm wondering if there's a way to stop it happening again.
Occasionally McAfee Security Center 2013 hangs during the "Installing Updates" phase and needs to be rebooted. Usually it's fine after the reboot but occasionally if it looks for subsequent updates.
Twice now it's hung during the "checking for updates" phase instead.
So far the only way I've been able to stop this is by rebooting again, but after running the Virtual Technician it claims there's an "issue" which turns out to be an available update, which is then automatically downloaded and installed.
Last time this happened there actually was another update pending, relating to the Firewall, but this time after checking the About page I can't see anything new or different, despite it telling me an update was installed.
This could, I suppose, be a connectivity issue, but that could be at either end. Maybe it's best to contact Technical Support with this, It''s free by phone or online chat and linked under Useful Links at the top of this page.
