I replaced the hard drive on my laptop, and I've tried to reinstall security ctr. from the website (my account), but it won't install. Everything seems to go smoothly until the very end, and I get "failed" next to each component of Sec. Ctr (virus scan, firewall, etc.). I've been all over your FAQs and forums, and I can't find a resolution. Can someone please HELP?! Thanks.
What is your operating system and service pack? 32 or 64-bit? Have you cleaned out your temporary files and defragged since reinstalling the system and are you totally up to date with critical and non-critical updates from Microsoft?
Also have you installed necessary add-ons such as Flash, Java etc?
Try running the Virtual Technician in my signature, post back what it says.
I tried to install Virt. Tech. but it came back with, "Can't find McAfee products on your system."
I didn't personally replace the hard drive; I paid some to do it. I didn't defrag; I did tun Microsoft update, though. I didn't install Flash or Java; I did install SuperAnti.., but I haven't run it yet.
Try saving the "DMSETUP" to your desktop first and then double-click that to start the process. If you have a slow connection that may be hampering this try installing one component at a time starting with Firewll, by using the Customize option when you see the selection.
