What is the computer’ s operating system ?
Did you make any recent changes to the computer ?
Do you have any other security software installed ?
Since when you have noticed the issue ?

It's a Vista, Quad Core Acer and the problem just started a few days ago. The only security software that it has is McAfee Security Center which I've just renewed recently.
I am not aware if there's been changes we've done with the computer the past few days.
Ok , lets restart the mcafee services and it should be able to reopen your security center.
Click start – click start search and type services.msc
From the windows that opens , check whether all the mcafee services are in Started and Start up type - Automatic
If not , double click on the particular service and change the start up type to be automatic,
Click on the recovery tab (at the top) and change all three failures to restart the service.
Close all open windows and restart the computer .
Try to open security center , If you are still unable to open security center , run mcafee virtual technician from http://mvt.mcafee.com and post me with your session id .
