My McAfee Total Protection will expire in Dec 2013. I'd been receiving a message in security center that my Mcafee subscription will be deactivated unless I reactive/ buy the service. Today it has been deactivated.
Who to contact to remedy my problem?
It looks like perhaps an older version of the software wasn't properly replaced when you got this one, only a guess of course.
As per FAQ TS101331 you could try uninstalling everything via Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program (Add or Remove Programs in XP) in the normal manner, then run the MCPR cleanup tool, reboot and reinstall from your online account,
