I recently bought a McAfee AntiVirus Plus license, but was unable to download and install it properly. My PC runs the Consumer Previwe version of Windows 8.
If there's no solution to this problem, I'd like a full refund to my purchase.
Thank you kindly.
Stefano, The regular software isn't yet compatible with Windows 8 as it is a beta operating system, not even beta yet actually. Whilst I could advise you against using a system that is still being developed as your main operating system it is your choice of course.
By the way I have removed the email address part of your log in so please use st.rastelli as your login name from now onwards, thanks.
You can obtain a refund within 30 days of purchase from Customer Service: http://service.mcafee.com/CustomerService.aspx?lc=4106&sg=CS&pt=1 best to reach them by telephone or online chat.
Meanwhile the McAfee Total Protection Beta, which is free, is compatible with Windows 8. You have to join the group and then open an account on the beta website using a different email address from your usual one.
Read here about the beta testing. Beta: https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-1236

You can use MCafee 8.8 patch2 for windows 8
This is the consumer section so VSE does not apply here. But to clarify the original question, all current McAfee consumer software is compatible with Windows 8.
Actually there was some uninstability to Consumer Preview (as it was a "beta" version of Win 8) and McAfee. But I don't think this is a issue anymore since Consumer Preview has expired 2 or 3 months ago...
