Hello, I installed McAfee security center on my PC (Vista ultimate 64). It appears to be stopping me staying logged in on certain sites, well all sites actually. It means I have to manually login in every time I go on sites such as Facebook, youtube and several forums I visit.
Even if I navigate away from the site then go back to it on the same browser session I have to log in again, his is becoming very tedious. This happens on both Mozilla and IE.
This sounds more like either abnormal browser settings or a 3rd party application is blocking cookies. This could include some anti-spyware applications.
In IE under Tools have you enabled "In Private Browsing"? That will stop IE from storing cookies needed to remember sign-in data.
In Firefox under Tools/Options/Privacy - Accept Cookies and Accept Third-Party Cookies should be checked and the option should be "Until they expire".
The only part of McAfee Security Center that could delete cookies is the QuickClean utility.
Double-click the taskbar icon to open Security Center Click Advanced Menu (bottom left) Click Tools (left) Click McAfee Quickclean (upper centre) Click Start (right) Uncheck Cookie Cleaner if it is checked.
To temporarily turn off VirusScan do the following:
Double-click the taskbar icon to open Security Center Click Advanced Menu (bottom left) Click Configure (left) Click Computer & Files (top left) You can disable VirusScan in the right-hand module and tell it for how long.
To disable firewall do the same except click Internet & Network then Advanced after the Configure part.
