Tried searching without success. I have a Dell XPS 1530 with MSC 9 installed with spam protection only and Symantec End Point 11 MR4. I can't get rid of the "not protected" error messages. When I open MSC and click Computer and Files I'm only offered the option to fix and not disable detection.
I've uninstalled/reinstalled MSC but no luck. When I click on Fix, it says one or more problems require my response. My only option is to click on "Get full protection" which is not what I want. I apologize if this has been resolved, but I cannot find the solution.
Can anyone help or give me some things to troubleshoot? This is really annoying. I want to keep the antispam so I can continue to evaluate the product. If this has a resolution, please let me know what to search on. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Are we talking about the home product here? McAfee Security Center isn't designed to run without VirusScan installed, so I'm not surprised. That is probably the reason if I read your post correctly in that you only have Anti-Spam (Spamkiller) installed?
You've picked the wrong product for spam filtering as a standalone product from another supplier is more what you need. Unless of course you are prepared to put up with the constant "not protected" nag.
