Identification of McAfee on Windows Vista Security Center

I am running McAfee Security Center (version 9.15). Contact with McAfee Support confirmed it is working correctly but didn't really answer my query.

When I check security status on Windows Security Center, it confirms that everything is on but doesn't identify McAfee correctly. For example, under Firewall, instead of saying 'McAfee Personal Firewall reports that it is currently turned on', it actually says 'vso;mps;mpfp;sko;msad;; reports that it is currently turned on'. It is the same report under Malware Protection.

Any suggestions?

Re: Identification of McAfee on Windows Vista Security Center

Hi, thanks for replying.

I have Vista Service Pack 1 installed. Automatic updates are turned on but I didn't install Service Pack 2 when given the chance.

No other anti-virus programs are in use other McAfee - even Windows Defender is turned off.

Re: Identification of McAfee on Windows Vista Security Center

Hi dave,

Perform a windows update and install service pack 2, that should resolve the issue as for the windows SC to detect an antivirus its needed.
