I will soon have a new Dell XPS 9100 computer that will come with the McAfee Security Center program installed. I would like to remove this program and so downloaded the Document ID: TS100507, providing procedures for the use of the McAfee Consumer Products Removal Tool (MCPR.exe). In this document it has an important note that if the McAfee program was preinstalled by the computer manufacturer, you must ensure that you activate your McAfee subscription before uninstalling
I would appreciate the information listing the procedures in how to accomplish this activatiion. Thanks for any help, Sam.
P.S. If the normal procedure is to connect to the internet to accomplish the activation, would there be any other way to do this? I would prefer not to connect to the internet until I have the computer setup the way I have planned.
Yes you need to use the internet to activate your subscription with McAfee. You will need to enter a user name, password, and email address to establish your account. This way if you choose to uninstall your software for any reason they will have it in the records that you are a subscriber and by then logging in your online McAfee account you could download your software as often as needed to depending on the amount of your licenses available as long as your subscription has not expired. It has been so long since I had to do this I am writing this out of memory. If any questions you could contact McAfee Customer Service found at the top of this page under Useful Links.
Not exactly the answer you wanted but it is the only way i know of.
