Event ID 516 mfehidk

Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64Bit - IE8 - McAfee Security Center pre-installed on Dell Laptop -  four weeks old

Every day I am getting up to ten Warnings in Event Viewer...

Event ID 516 mfehidk

"Process **\mcshield.exe pid (2168) contains signed but untrusted code, but was allowed to perform a privileged operation with a McAfee driver"

Or - as above but "Process**\mcupdmgr .exe pid (7024) contains....."

Deos anyone else get this and can someone explain what it means?

Thanks

Re: Event ID 516 mfehidk

Hi there,

Technically speaking these kind of error messages happens for every software if the Operating system has signature issues. Yoo could try to check for updates from microsoft and then do a uninstall & reinstall for McAfee application which should get you up an running without these errors !!!

Thanks,
