After recently updating my McAfee subscription and products, which covers multiple computers, I'm starting to see a consisten "your computer is not protected" message coming from the Security Center. It does not FIX; I cannot see where there is a problem to be touched/changed; there is nothing in the report/logs of help. My family members are now questioning whether there is a problem or not because the message displays to each user as they log on to use the computer under their own login. Further, I have tried the Virtual Technical Advisor and it just ran and ran and ran for more then 3 hours. I have done a full download/update. No change. What switch can I change in the registry to get things back on track without having to go through an uninstall/new install, which ends up being a pain in the butt.
I have been getting the same problem for a couple of days. Last night my firewall turned itself off. 'Fix' button appeared to work for all of 10 seconds and then it turned off again - no errors, no events, nothing in the logs or recent events, nada.
After a reboot it seemed OK but I am concerned - it starts to make you think your machine is infected.
During the time that you're getting the "Your computer is not protected" message, once opening McAfee Security center and before clicking the FIX button, on the right side of the McAfee Window, do you see any message that tells you about the exact problems why McAfee is telling you that your computer is not protected? for example: real time scanning is disabled or system guard is disabled. happy
