When I try to start the Security Centre by clicking on the desktop, system tray icon or in the list of installed programs nothing happens. I’m running Windows 7 x64 on a Dell 8100.
All the McAfee processes seem to be running OK.
I have run the ‘Virtual Technician’ which reported no problems. I have uninstalled the software, run the Consumer Product Removal tool, downloaded and re-installed the application.
Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

Open Internet explorer - Click tools - Click on Windows Updates --> Install any available windows updates & restart the computer.
Check and remove if you have installed any other security software in the computer ?
Run the McAfee virtual technician from http://mvt.mcafee.com and post your session id (This will automatically detect and fix the problem found)

I found the problem - it was java.
I unistalled it and reboted. McAfee Security Centre is now running AOK.
