When i start up my computer it loads normally and then after it gets all booted up, i get a popup from McAfee that says buffer overload. McAfee prevented/blocked it. I hit close. It pops up a few more times and i hit close each time. Then the pop ups stop and my start bar at the bottom freezes. I cannot click anything on the bottom right (clock, mcafee icon, or any other icon) and i cannot click the start button. I hit cnt alt del and restart and the same thing happens. I updated to get the latest threats and then scanned my computer. No threats were found... so how do i get this to stop bc i cant get anything done and my start button task bar freezes and everything is slow.....
any help is greatly appreciated.
What version of Windows have you got, and is it fully up to date? Microsoft have fixed a number of buffer overflows lately but McAfee watches for them just in case.
Also, you say you have the latest McAfee updates? Good, but better run a scan or two with other programs to double-check. Start with Malwarebytes Free, that's good for a second opinion.
