Unable to enable on-access scanning on Mcafee for Sharepoint 3.0

Jump to solution

Hi,

I have installed McAfee for Sharepoint 3.0 on a server and in the top right hand corner the on access settings display as disabled. Having clicked on this link I have ticked the relevant boxes to change my settings but the display still states disabled. The server has been restarted after install and the software is not picking up the test file as a threat so is not just a display issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ian

Hi ianwooly, I faced the same issue. My solution was to grant local admin rights to the dedicated Service Account of McAfee Portal Shield, which was used to access the database. After restarting the PortalShield Service i saw the green icon. The Serviceaccount was also granted to be logon as a service in the local security policies. Both permissions are NOT mentioned in the McAfee documentation.

Thanks olverdoerr, I checked all the documentation I could get my grubby little hands on and it never mentioned this.

Thanks

Ian
