I'm using the same configuration as you are. The only difference is in username field. My syntax is:

username@ADdomain

And this account has appropriate rights on my vCenter.

There should be a vcenter.log in var/log/  That might be worthwhile to check.

That is odd. Are you checking on the Receiver as the file is there (and not in the ESM). Sample:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 48039 Nov 15 10:17 vcenter.log.00

Most of the time the error is related to credentials so it might be worth double checking if you use the correct ones.

Ohhh yes i checked it in the ESM... sorry

now that i;m from the erc, i see in the vcenter.log that the problem is the UserName or Password.

but the vcenter administrator claims he fallowed the McAfee guide and the username and password is correct.. i dont know what to do.

here is the output of "vcenter.log"

+L_ERROR|L_WARN|L_INFO : +0x0040001800000000000000000000000e

Nov 14 23:41:02 L_ERROR 04240|ServerFaultCode Cannot complete login due to an incorrect user name or password.
Nov 14 23:41:02 L_ERROR 04240|Failed to log on to the vCenter Server.
Failed to log on to the vCenter Server.

----- [[ ( 4) logging categories ]] ----------------

L_BOOKMARK : normal execution bookmark information libcontrol
L_ERROR : fatal exceptions libcontrol
L_WARN : non-fatal exceptional conditions /usr/bin/perl
L_INFO : normal execution information /usr/bin/perl

----- [[ applied output ]] ------------------------

-> fileset path : /var/log/vcenter.log
files: 10
size : 1 meg(s) or 1048576b
redir : yes

This seems related to credentials. Are there any errors recorded in the vCenter server logs? Could you try another set of credentials maybe?
