Using ESM to detect when an application has been installed

Has anyone looked into the possibility of creating an alarm when applications are installed on Windows servers and having them include the name of the application that was installed?

Hello.

Do you actually see that kind of information in your Windows Event Viewer?

If your answer is yes, then you should see that event in your ESM... I suppose that the ESM maybe not parse all the fileds in that event specifically... but that can be solved.

Well, I turned on verbose logging and I wasn't able to get those events to show up in event viewer.

Hello.

You can use this Dorian Software BLOG: Tracking Software Installation and Removal Using Event IDs 11707, 11724, and 5....

I think that link can help you to configure an app install logging.
