RegEx Filter Criteria for Source IP Field Not Working

I AM successfully using the following RegEx as a query filter to eliminate machine accounts from my dashboard view:

• NOT Source User [contains([a-zA-Z0-9_]*?\$)]

However, I receive an Invalid Iaddress (ER1022) error message when I attempt to use any of the below three RegEx query filters in the Source IP field:

• contains(10(\.[0-9]{1,3}){1,3}),contains(172\.(1[6-9]|2[0-9]|3[0-1])(\.[0-9]{1,3}){1,2})
• contains(10(\.[0-9]{1,3}){1,3})
• contains(172\.(1[6-9]|2[0-9]|3[0-1])(\.[0-9]{1,3}){1,2})

I am seeking assistance to identify the source of my syntax error which is causing the Nitro error message.

Whilst this doesn't address your question it may solve your problem.

Why not use CIDR notation?

10.0.0.0/8

172.16.0.0/12

Nitro Support sent me the following information:

The contains regex option can only be used in certain filters.  In destination and source ip filters you cannot use the contains regex.  You will have to use the CIDRs.

As a result, I created the following three Watchlists containing the respective static values.

Using the Watchlists as the proper query filters worked:
