Receiver doesn't get new events

Jump to solution

I updated our ESM to 9.5.1 MR2 on 12/22 and since 12/23 one of our Receivers is totally dead without and new events. If I SSH into it and perform NitroStop --nod and then do a NitroStart --nod it will begin to receive new events temporarily before going silent again. I've contacted support but they haven't been very helpful and insist the issue is my service account I'm using for WMI pulls. If I go into the data source and perform connect it does say it connects successfully.

UPDATE:

There is a bug on MR2 that creates a deadlock situation that was introduced with the real time alarm performance enhancement.

The current workaround is to disable real time alarms for devices.

By "real time" alarms, are you referring to "Field Match" alarms?

Yes, I've just applied the patch and everything seems to be working now

Where did you get the patch? directly from support?

Yeah, they sent it through e-mail and since I've applied it I haven't had issues. Hopefully nothing else will be broken seems like the last couple of releases have been pretty bad

I would be very hesitant of rolling out this release.

I did to our ESM, ACE, a pair of HA receivers and two other receivers and 3 ELMs and have had nothing but problems.  I still have 2 HA receivers to patch.

Events not coming in, events with poorly parsed data, etc.  I'm on with technical support and they've applied a small patch to one receiver,   In our case ALL the parsers got disabled.

I'd definitely get on the phone with support if you've already upgraded.

For anyone that hasn't upgraded, I would heavily advise you do not until this gets resolved.

After the patch Support gave me my receivers have been working fine, with an occasional hiccup the reason we upgraded from MR1 was due to the memory leak. It greatly downgraded performance

We came from 9.5.0MR4 and it's been a disaster.
