McAfee SIEM (Connecting to the ESM via Web GUI issue)

Hello friends, I am new to the McAfee SIEM and I have an issue and i need your expertise.

I have McAfee_ENMELM_VM12 .ova file and i have installed the appliance successfully in vm ware and  did the initial setup of the management config.

But when i try to access through web using IP address i am unable to go to the login page.

when i checked ipconfig the ip address is not pinging.

how can i establish bridge between guest(appliance in VM) and host (windows 8.1).

You won't be able to PING initially, as PING needs to be enabled once you are in the GUI.

can u browse to https://[your ESM IP]? If not, try do a dummy change in MGMT Network IP configure in the ESM VM, and make sure your host can reach the ESM via 22 and 443.

i have done the mgt1 ip config. in which i have provided ip(192.168.0.10) and gateway ip too and saved(initial configuration)

but when i try to connect to the ESM using browser i am facing the issue.

How can i fix this?

Strange. Well, make sure you have the same gateway IP as the ESM on the endpoint which browser is on. Put https:// in front, well shouldn't make a difference. If both fails, restart the ESM VM.

Im assuming you've checked your VMware/VM network settings.

from command line you can try c:\telnet <esm IP> 80, >telnet <ESM IP> 80 , may give you some additional clues

try telnet on 443 and 22 as well to make sure the server is online.

I am also facing the same issue. I have configured ova file on virtual box.

Failed to telnet on port 443, 80 and 22 from client machine.

Tried with both host only and bridge network but not able to connect to ESM via browser.

How can I fix this issue?
