Hi! I am having trouble changing the # of CPU cores using Linux CLI command in a device during the initial configuration of said device. I have to match the # of CPU cores in the CLI command to the one set in the VM.
I have already extracted the set_vm_cores in the respective devices using WinSCP. After that, I tried the bash set_vm_cores.sh command. Afterwards, I rebooted the Virtual Machines. Then after rebooting, I used /usr/local/bin ResizevmVolume command and set the core to from 8 cores to 20 cores (this is as per plan). Then I tried using htop command but it only shows that I still have 8 cores for the device.
Seeking help in changing # of CPU. Thank you.

I would say from your responses you have provided it would seem that the set_vm_cores did not finish correctly. You might try running it again and if you still do not get the message of it finishing then please open a service request.
set_vm_cores.sh is the script to use. Did it show you any errors?
Did you increase the number of cores provided to the VM from the hypervisor?
What is the output of lscpu?
Hi!
For this project, we do not use hypervisor. We use VMware for the virtual machine, wherein the CPU cores there are initially configurated as per plan. For the lscp command, we run the lscp for the device, it says 20 cores. However when we run htop command, it shows only up to 8 cores.
Can you please enlighten me on this, sir? Thank you.
Question when you ran the set_vm_cores.sh and selected the 20 cores did you get the messages finished installing c43fea... and then it should have given the message "date VM cores set to 20". In the Iscp does it say ERC-VM20?
Hi!
As I have ran the set_vm_cores, I did not receive any messages like "finished installing c43fea..." and the "date VM cores set to 20". Also, as I have check the lscpu and cat /etc/NitroGuard/ipsmodel, it is still showing ERC-VM8.
Thank you.
