Have no event using Data Source Collector

Hi all,

I have Windows Server And I install on it the Collector, I setup new client as Windows Events and specified the Security log:

Host ID: #xxxx-WMI

Selected Logs:Security

On my ERC I can see by using tcpdump that I get the events, but the data.xxxx log is 0 byte size which is way I have no event on the SIEM dashboard under this data source.

I setup that data source under my ERC as follow:

Vendor: Microsoft
Modal:Windows Event Log -CEF
Format:Default
Retrival:MEF
Support Generic Syslog: Parse as generic syslog
Generic Rule Assignment: Windows Events Log - CEF

The host ID is xxxx-WMI and I also specified the IP address of that server

Please help.

Re: Have no event using Data Source Collector

Hi,

Can you provide screenshot of the SIEM collector agent and screenshot of the MEF data source configuration settings.

Provide the above details so we can provide you further steps

Re: Have no event using Data Source Collector

The model needs to be set to "Windows Events - WMI" not "CEF". Please ensure the hostname on the datasource configuration is identical to the configured HostID in SIEM Collector.
