HBA and Multipath with a SAN?

We currently own legacy Nitro hardware which is being replaced with new McAfee/Intel hardware in the next month or two.  One of the questions that we have involved the use of an HBA in our ELM that connects to our SAN.  With the existing Nitro equipment (ELMREC combo) we were not able to configure multipath, as we were told by McAfee the OS does not support this.

With a new ELM (ERC-2600) and a dual port HBA (QLogic 2562) specified by McAfee for the receiver, we are wondering if the OS limitation is still in place or with the newer hardware and HBA we can now establish multipath for our SAN connections?

Hi, Penoffd!

Multipath is currently not supported.

Re: HBA and Multipath with a SAN?

The Linux kernel that is customized for the SIEM appears to support multipath in its native state.  Is there a possibility this will be enabled in the future?

most of us have been waiting for this feature since like time immemorial so my suggestion is: forget it. Instead get used to the idea any time you have ELM issues they will say the recommended setup for NFS requires the ELM and the NFS server to be connected to the same switch(?!?! )
