Error: No connection found to McAfee servers (ER202)

Jump to solution
Hello everyone, When I try to verify credentials for rules update in McAfee ESM 11.3, I have following error: Error: No connection found to McAfee servers (ER202) Telnet result from SIEM host: McAfee-ENMELM-VM8 ~ # telnet nitroguard.com 443 Trying 161.69.23.78... Telnet from other hosts has same results. I see session end reason as 'aged out' in network firewall logs.

I've tested from a couple of third party sites (as we are on the McAfee network so the fact we can connect doesn't necessarily prove anything) and their indications are that connections work (https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/index.html and https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ )

Unfortunately I do not have access to a SIEM on a different network to test the rule updates from it, but given the connection errors you are getting appear to be ip or tcp layer errors, I expect these suffice to indicate it's a localised issue.

Hi lratcliffe,

Thank you! The problem is domain availability from my country. I used proxy for credential verification and rules updating.

Hi

Please check if your proxy has been enabled on the ESM end and also validate if your firewall is allowing the traffic from161.69.23.78 and nitroguard.com

Also, check if the customer ID is correct one.

Hi amarati,

We don't use proxy server.

Customer ID was received a few days ago.

Firewall is allowing traffic from 161.69.23.78 and nitroguard.com. The reason for ending session is not receiving a response from the server.
