ESM Port for 11.4.1

Referring to this KB from McAfee -

Does that mean that port 9092 has to be opened on the ESM for outbound connections? Not inbound as well? Other sources has mentioned that 9092 only applies to to other devices (ELM, ACE, ERC) - see here:

Which is correct?

Would 9092 also have an impact on verifying the certificate when doing the actions in this kb

We are facing the situation where the devices have been upgraded to 11.4.1 from 10.4.x, but the ESM isn't showing events from the receivers. We can see that the receivers are collecting events but can't get them to the ESM. I've tried to re-key the receivers (got an SSH error but refreshed the page, and the re-key took so don't know if that's an issue), wrote out the cluster settings (fake-changing the Databus port number and then changing it back to 9092).

Re: ESM Port for 11.4.1

Would modifying the iptables on the devices themselves be needed as well? For some receivers I'm seeing

DATABUS    tcp  --  *      *             state NEW tcp dpt:9092

when I run iptables -n -v -L | grep 9092

But nothing when I run that same command when I'm in the CLI on the ESM.

What should be the target (-j) when creating the iptables rules? DATABUS? Are there any KB's for how the iptables should look like?
