Weve triggered a Full backup on our SIEM but based on the rate it was going it was going take 4-5 days to complete and we cant have the ESM down for that long, is there a way we can stop the full backup safely? We also have a redundant ESM, would it be safe to trigger a fail over to the redundant while the Primary is performing the backup. Thank you.
Please open a service request to stop the back up if it is taking a long time.
You may need to check for bandwidth issues towards the NFS share. It may also depend on how much data is currently present on the ESM. Please refer KB85742 on how to estimate the total size of the ESM backup.
The best practice to take the back up on version 10.x is to initiate a failover to the Redundant ESM & then take a full backup from the initial Primary ESM.
In version 10.x, the ESM services go do down while taking a Full backup.
Whereas in version 11.x, the ESM services do not go down when taking a Data back up.
Based on your suggestion, we should trigger a fullbackup from the redundant ESM. If my memory serves correct we wont be able to trigger any configuration from the redundant since a prompt will appear that it is redundant and configurations should be done on primary
