Customize/Filtering in Event Summary for Event Distribution Report

How do you filter the Event Summary events to a select few for an Event Distribution line graph? 

1) Physical Display > Local ESM > Event Receiver> Selected_Receiver. 

2) Created Event Summary View and Event Distribution

3) Next, I need to create an Event Distribution line graph based on a subset of the summary events (i.e. filter/selected based on event subtype or rule message.)  

Any hints on the next step?
