Is there a way to create a custom Rule Assignment Type?

or

Is there a way to create either a custom Data Source Vendor instead of using the Generic option?

You can "rename" the User Defined Rule assignments in Receiver properties.

1. Go to Receiver properties.

2. Click on Data Sources

3. Click on Rename at the bottom.

4. Edit the User Defined 1 to appropriate name that reflects your custom parser device. Once you change this, it will reflect in your Data Source properties and custom parser rule assignment.

5. Don't forget to select this Rule assignment in Custom Parser ASP rule.

Thank you Syed these seems to solve my problem. Is it possible to go beyond the 10 User Defined options provided? Are there any other effects of using the User Defined Rule Assignment Types?

No worries. 10 User Defined is the limit. Moreover, each rule assignment has a limit of 10 custom types. Also note, you can have multiple data sources using the same User Defined.
