Auditd in McAfee SIEM appliances

In version 11.4.x there is auditd introduced which by default writes audit entries into /var/log/audit.log

Audit configuration files is in /etc/audit/auditd.conf

In /etc/audit/plugins.d there are af_unix.conf and audisp-siem-plugin.conf

Is there a way to make these audit events appear in SIEM to be available for correlation/alerting/reporting?

Since there is no parsing engine on ESM/ACE/ELM, I guess it means we need to forward these logs to a data source on ERC or use the script /usr/local/bin/AddAlert to put them into alerts DB directly?

Re: Auditd in McAfee SIEM appliances

Please do not try to forward the logs - adding a datasource with the ESM IP address to a receiver can cause loss of communication to the receiver.

Adding these logs to be parsed somewhere in SIEM would be a product idea - please use KB60021 to raise one.   What data are you looking to get from these?  They're largely internal auditing of SIEM functionality.
