Hi Dualeh,
Please follow the given instructions to get this issue fixed.
Note : This is a workaround related to registry, I would recommend you to contact our technical support to fix this issue. If still you need to do your own, please follow the given instructions.
We need to create a time stamp to fix this issue. For example(ScriptSn.20110916153603.dll). Creating time stamp is replacing the existing values of the registries.
To copy values :
1. Go to location C:\Program Files\CommonFiles\McAfee\SystemCore\scriptsnxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.dll
2. Press F2 on the registry values.
3. You will be able to edit those registries now.
4. Copy the values and paste it in a notepad.
5. Go to start --> select Run --> Type “regedit” and hit enter.
6. Registry window will open. Click on export to take backup before youmake any changes in the registry
7. Select the option file and export to the desktop
8. Please browse to the location mentioned below and change the value tothe value mentioned below :
VbScript:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11cf-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}\InprocServer32
9. Press enter or select modify to edit the registry value.
10. Copy and replace the value which you have it on the notepad.
11. Go to the following location on registry.
Jvscript:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{f414c260-6ac0-11cf-b6d1-00aa00bbbb58}\InprocServer32
12. Press enter or select modify to edit the registry value.
13. Copy and replace the value which you have it on the notepad.
14. Once this is done , please restart the system and try a manualupdate.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Regards,
Ravi Shankar. R
Hi Ravi,
is there any other way than changing the register to fix this issue.
thanks
dualeh
Hi Dualeh,
This is the only workaround available now. Our engineering team is working on the compatibility of the IE9 browser. Hope this will be resolved in the next patch release. We are expecting a patch to be released by the next month.
I would recommend you to please use this workaround for time being to resolve your issue.

Ravi Shankar. R
hello all,
I have received a critical update for McAfee SaaS Endpoint Protection today and i am not sure this is gunuine or not, it may be a virus. see attachment. The message says "Critical updates has been applied to your McAfee software for them to take effect you must restart your computer now". Could someone advice me whether is this is guniune or not please.
Hi Dualeh,
We are really sorry that the image which you have sent is completely diminished; please send us the exact message in that window.

I have people all over my company getting this pop-up as well! I cannot find ANYWHERE where this was discussed and this has NEVER happened before.
"Critical updates have been applied to your McAfee software. For them to take effect you must restart your computer. Restart now?"
Shouldn't there be some warning or at least an e-mail sent to the SAS administrator letting them know that this was genuine, if it indeed is genuine?
Schgsyi,
You are right, they should send email to all their customers and let them know that before they release or upgrade new versions. I was realy concern when i had received this warnings message yesterday which force me to to contact McAfee technical support. I was spent nearly 2 hrs on the phone and finally they said that they release new version which is 5.4.0 and this is genuine update.
Hello,
We have notified all the customers about the latest version upgrade through a banner/Alert message in Security Center home page.
