How to exclude certain filetypes from being scanned?

Jump to solution

Running Total Protection Service on 14 PC's.

3 of them are from the CAD CAM department.

These guys suffer from slowed down acces on the server.

I suspect that the virus checking of big CAD files is slowing those systems down?

So is it possible to exlude certain filetypes from being scanned?

Thanks for the help.

Hi frankbe,

Please log on to your McAfee Web based console :- www.mcafeeasap.com

Once you are there, Please click on the Polcies tab and then create a new policy. If you already have a new policy which was created by you, Then just edit that and under the Virus and Spyware Coverage tab, You will find the option to add EXCETIONS.

You can add files as well as folders to the Exceptions list. Please try and this and see if it helps.

Thank you

Sameer
