My employer has given me my old laptop.
This laptop contains McAfee Endpoint Encryption.
When I start my laptop I get a login screen of McAfee Endpoint Encryption. This is provided by my employer.
As I will use this laptop privately from now on I would like to get rid of this program/login.
Does anyone know how to deactivate or delete the program so I can use the normal Windows login screens?
I have tried to uninstall SbSetup.exe via CMP, but without succes...
Thanks!
Hi and thanks for your question. Your laptop was provisioned by your employer. When they decided to decommission that laptop, their process would have removed the laptop by some tracking mechanism such as a help-desk ticket. That would trigger a series of events such as the removal of the asset from AD and the removal of Drive Encryption per your companies security policy. If the laptop owned by the company was stolen it would provide an easy avenue for someone to remove the encryption, which they can't. Short of formatting the drive you need to see your employer and have them follow their own policy for decommissioning assets such as your laptop.
