Firewall Blocking Clients Getting IP Address

I have recently installed SaaS Endpoint protection on our office pc's and server (2003R2), when the SaaS firewall is enabled on the server it blocks the clients from obtaining an ip address.

Can anyone advise on settings I need to add to allow clients to get an ip address through the firewall.

Many Thanks!!

Re: Firewall Blocking Clients Getting IP Address

This is not the area for SaaS questions.  We do not handle that product, unfortunately.

Re: Firewall Blocking Clients Getting IP Address

Hi,

Since some time we are experiencing simillar problems. After every server rebout SaaS firewall drops the "custom" connection type setting. Setting the connetion type to "custom" and allowing all computers to connect seems to be required in our network setup to enable acquisition of DHCP leases. SaaS firewall restarts with a "trusted" network setting disallowing PC's connected to our intranetwork to obtain a DHCP lease from DHCP running on the server.

These problems occur irrespective of the network settings controlled by the local administrator or centralised administrator.

Our circumvention is to only allow manual server restearts. We disable automatic updates (as they migt incur a reboot) on the server and perfom updates manually in a controlled timeframe. If a reboot is then required we reboot and reset the firewall network settings manually.

btw since this behavior we als experience an MFEANN.exe failed message on everey server shutdown.

Any ideas?

SBS2003 R2

SaaS 5.2

I would appreciate
