Re: The fault "Device performance - L3/L4 Error Drop
The L3 / L4 Error drops are alerting because of the checksum errors.
The sensor by default drops checksum errors. If they forward the checksum errors through the sensor, then they will not be dropped and so the alerts will not appear.
The checksum packet errors need to be investigated from the customers network.
The sensor is dropping checksum errors generated by your network. Most devices will forward checksum errors but the sensor performs drop packet inspection so by default will drop the packets.
If you just want to allow the checksum packet errors through, then you can perform the command "set tcpudpchecksumerror forward".
If you want to investigate further which devices and network equipment are generating the checksum errors, then you can perform the command ‘clrstat’ to clear the stats and then perform the command “show inlinepktdropstats <interface>”.
When you find the interface that is dropping the majority of the checksum errors, then you can trace the packet back to find out what is generating the error.
