The different of "Inline Fail Open" and "Inline Fail Open- active" for ns 5200

Dear All,

I have a NS 5200 which is set to "Fail open"

When I set to "Inline Fail Open", The traffic can be fail-open when we reboot the sensor, but the traffic will not return inline after the sensor boot up

Is it normal? Or any setting I can set to make IPS function after reboot?

When I Set to "Inline Fail Open- active" It won't be fail-open when we reboot the sensor, but IPS return to inline after inline"

Is it normal?

I have take a look for below guide, but I am not sure it have not answer this question

Hi Tony,

Take a look at the "Network Security Platform 8.3 CLI Guide" P92, available at the below link;

Network Security Platform documentation reference guide

https://kc.mcafee.com/agent/index?page=content&id=KB76064

You should be able to use the setfailopencfg command to set the ports to go back inline after a reboot.

Regards

Peter
