Replace a NSM server

Hello,

In a Manager Server NSM 9.2, where 4 sensors are configured, a server replacement must be performed, while keeping the same IP. What will be the best installation procedure to migrate the server keeping the policies.

Thanks.

Luigi.

Re: Replace a NSM server

Hi @Luigi_df

If you are replacing your current NSM server for a new one (and assuming that you have a physical server), you can  export an All Tables backup from your current NSM. then Install the new server and restore the backup collected from the old NSM ( the NSM version must be the same as the old NSM, otherwise, the restore will fail).

Once you have restore the DB, and validated that all the configuration of your sensors are ok, you can proceed with changing the IP address from your old NSM to the new one, that way the sensors will start communicating to the new NSM.

Note: Make sure that the old NSM does not have the same IP address when you put the new NSM in production, otherwise,  you will have an IP conflict

Below is the KB for restoring your DB

Re: Replace a NSM server

Thank you,

In my case, we are moving from a virtual server to another one. There will be a difference?
