Redundancy of management port

Jump to solution
HW: NS7150, NS3200 Customer is asking if it is possible to configure management port in redundant configuration, e.g. port channel, so if one network port goes down, it is still possible connect to device with secondary port. Or if it is possible to reconfigure 2 monitoring ports to behave as 2 management ports. The same question raises also for heartbeat port. Has someone some experience with such setup please?

Hi @User71907336

Please find following information helpful:

1. Yes, it is possible to configure port-channel on the Sensor which is called a port cluster.

https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/network-security-platform-9.2.x-product-guide/page/GUID-32DDB3B3-84BA...

2. It is not possible to have a monitoring port configured as a management port.

3. Heartbeat ports are hardcoded to the Sensor model which cannot be changed.

https://docs.mcafee.com/bundle/network-security-platform-9.2.x-product-guide/page/GUID-45A860B5-0977...

I hope this answers your question.
