Hello Everyone
Since two days i am seeing the following alert
The description says: SENSOR: Host Entries for Connection Limiting Feature Exhausted
I don't understant well what to do with this alarm, and what is generating it.
Thanks
Hi Layer0,
What Sensor model / Software version / SigSet version are you using?
Did this start happening after pushing a SigSet or UDS to the sensor?
Regards
Peter
Hi Peter
Sensor model: NS-9100
Software version: 8.1.5.71
Sigset Version: 8.7.61.4
No, we didn't do any push of a Sigset or UDS, manually or automatically when the alert began to happen.
Thanks
Hi Layer0,
Do you have any Connection Limiting Policies configured on your managers?
Regards
Peter
Hello
There is no connection limiting policy configured
Thanks
Hi Layer0,
I have found one of my NS-9200 sensors is generating the same alert, when I look at the alert detail I can see that the Matched Policy which is triggering the alert is only applied to the inactive interfaces on the sensor.
I have open an SR with Support to have them investigate. I'll let you know what I hear back.
Peter
Hello Peter
If you have any update with the support. Please let mw know.
Thanks
Hi Layer0,
I had a remote session with support so they could see the issue and sent them on the log files etc., they have sent it to development to review as they think it's a bug.
I will let you know once I hear anything back for them.
Peter
Hi Layer0,
Support are still investigating the issue, they have advised that they have not had any other reports of the issue. Have you opened an SR with them and if so can you give me the SR number so I can pass it on.
Thanks
Peter
Hi Layer0,
I have upgraded our NS9200 sensor that was generating this error to v8.2.5.100 software and am no longer seeing this alert. I don't know if this has fixed the issue or if rebooting the sensor has reset the the Connection Limiting host table.
I got this update from support which you can try if it's applicable to your environment.
"Do you have Web Server Denial-of-service protection enabled? If so, that could also explain this alert. This is configured in the inspection options policy. If it is configured, you can work around the problem temporarily by running 'clrconnlimithost' on the CLI. We are working on a fix for this issue, but I don't have an ETA on a patch yet."
Hope this helps
Peter
