Migration of NSM 9.1.7.11 from windows 2008 to newer OS

scenario: we have NSM running in high availability and are currently set up on windows 2008 - since 2008 has been long off compliant - I am looking to migrate to newer windows.

What should be the procedure followed? I believe, it includes complete new setup of application but steps for the same would be helpful.

Re: Migration of NSM 9.1.7.11 from windows 2008 to newer OS

1.Take Full database Back up from existing NSM.

2.Install same NSM software version in new OS.

3.After instllation restore full table backup.

4.Make sure that the IP address of the new Manager is the same as that of the existing one. If the IP address is
different, the Sensors cannot communicate with the new Manager system. In that case, re-establish this
communication from each Sensor.

5.Build MDR after performing above steps.

Please refer below 9.1 installation guide(How to upgrade manager-Page no-179) for more details.

Hi @User27622125

Yes, the process remains the same.

Take separate config table & all table backup from the NSM for disaster recovery. Upgrade the Server OS and re-install the NSM same version. Restore the collected backup.

Faizan
